This past weekend the Daytona Beach Vegetarian Society held an event for the public. The event event featured guest speaker George Eisman, a vegan registered dietician. He is also a lecturer at Cornell University and is a former faculty member of Florida State University. He is also the Nutrition Director at the Coalition for Cancer Prevention through Plant-Based Eating.

George gave a wonderful talk about the link between animal protein and dairy and cancer. He also took questions from the crowd of about 40 people. We also gave out vegan food samples, courtesy of VegFund (thank you!), and some free Larabar samples (thank you!).

The event was great! Many people learned about how their food choices can contribute to their cancer risks and George gave a great presentation!
