When it comes to pure vegetarian restaurants in Volusia County you are pretty much out of luck. That we know of, there aren't any at this point. But there are some that are more vegetarian friendly than others and some that do offer one or two good vegetarian options that make it worth considering. We have provided the links to the restaurants so you can view any online menus they may provide, as well as obtain their contact info if you would like to inquire about the vegan status of an item, get directions, etc.

• Cafe Fresh - located at the new Pavilion at Port Orange. They offer two vegetarian wraps, including the Veggie Extreme and The Portobello. They also offer fresh fruit juices and smoothies. They also use all eco-friendly cups! (see restaurant review)
• Red Robin - also in the Pavilion at Port Orange. They offer a Gardenburger veggie burger, as well as a Boca burger veggie burger.
• Avocado Kitchen - 110 South Beach St in Daytona Beach. The Avocado Kitchen has a large vegetarian menu that even includes a breakfast tofu scramble and a tofu BBQ sandwich.
• Siam Spice - 101 Bay Street Daytona Beach. This Thai restaurant offers a variety of vegetarian dishes, including spring rolls, noodle dishes, rice dishes, and more.
• Great Wraps - on International Speedway in Daytona Beach. They offer a hummus veggie wrap
• Johnny Rockets - located the Ocean Walk Shoppes. Johnny Rockets has a good veggie burger (Boca vegan patty) on the menu that was touted by PETA. They also have a message for vegetarian guests that makes them seem to be more 'aware' than most restaurants. Another plus is they are one of the very few restaurants that offer a veggie burger on the kids menu!
• Ruby Tuesday - 1808 International Speedway Blvd. and 2695 N. Atlantic Ave. Ruby Tuesday offers a mini veggie burger option, as well as a great salad bar.
• Heavenly Sandwiches & Smoothes - 115 Flagler Avenue New Smyrna Beach - they have a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan sandwiches. While they don't seem to have a Web site, you can click on their name and download the menu.
• Pasha Middle East Foods - 919 W International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach. Great vegetarian options (falafel, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, etc.).
• Mediterranean Experience - 174 N. Beach St. This is a small restaurant that offers several vegetarian options, including falafel pita, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, etc.
• Moe's - several locations around the county. They are vegan friendly as their tortillas are vegan (we contacted the corporate office). They also offer tofu as a filling.
• Panera Bread - several locations. They offer sandwiches and soups and provide the ingredients on their site. Some of their signature salads (like the strawberry poppyseed) can be made vegetarian and/or vegan by saying no to the chicken/cheese.
• Raku Sushi and Asian Cuisine - 4001 S. Nova Rd. Port Orange. Their menu is available online and they do offer several vegetarian dishes.
• Genovese's Italian Cafe - 116 Dunlawton Ave. Daytona Beach Shores and 183 E. Granada Ave. Ormond Beach. They offer several vegetarian dishes like pasta, pizza, and calzones. They also offer a variety of low-fat cheese-free pizzas. Their site also offers special coupons.
• Nature's Table Cafe - inside the Volusia Mall on ISB. They have several vegetarian options.
• Love Whole Foods - 275 Williamson Blvd. Ormond Beach. The natural foods store has a cafe inside and offers several vegetarian items. You can find the menu online here.
• Neelam Indian Cuisine - 318 South Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach. They offer a lot of vegetarian options.
• Leanh's Chinese Restaurant - 1780 S. Nova in South Daytona. They offer a list of vegetarian options.

Of course this is not an exhaustive list of every place that offers a vegetarian option on the menu. There are many chains that offer them if you are looking for locations just click on the links to view their menu and address information.

• Chipotle - they are good about divulging ingredients in dishes, offering burritos, tacos, etc.
• Tijuana Flats - accommodating for making food the way you want it
• Olive Garden -  they do offer vegetarian options and will make fresh garlic bread sticks without butter upon request
• Great Wraps - located on International Speedway Blvd., they offer a hummus veggie wrap
• Denny's and Chili's - they both have several locations and offer a veggie burger

Restaurants outside Volusia County:

• Ethos Vegan Kitchen - This restaurant is located in Orlando. If you are in the area it is worth stopping by. The food is great! The entire menu is vegan. (see restaurant review)
• Dandelion Community Cafe - An organic tea house and cafe featuring vegan food. Located in Orlando.
• Loving Hut - is an international fast food chain that serves all vegan food. In Florida, they have a location in Orlando, Cape Coral, Naples and Tampa.
• Woodland's - This is an all Indian vegetarian restaurant. Within Florida you can find a location in Orlando and Lauder Hill.
• Don Pablo's - located in Sanford, but if you are headed that way they have portabella mushroom fajitas
• Almond Blossom Cafe - 213 South 2nd St. Flagler Beach. This is a raw vegan restaurant. - AS OF SEPTEMBER 2009 HAS CLOSED UP.
• Evos - This is a healthier version fast food restaurant. They have locations in the Tampa Bay area. All vegan items are noted on their menu and they even offer vegan shakes!
• Manatee Cafe- Located in St. Augustine, this restaurant features a menu that is almost all vegetarian. They have a great manatee theme that makes it that much more interesting. (see restaurant review)
• Sublime Restaurant & Bar - located in Ft. Lauderdale, it is an all vegan upscale establishment.
