When it comes to pure vegetarian or vegan restaurants in Volusia County you out of luck. That we know of, there aren't any at this point. But there are some that are more vegetarian friendly than others and some that do offer one or two good vegetarian options that make it worth considering. We have provided the links to the restaurants so you can view any online menus they may provide, as well as obtain their contact info if you would like to inquire about the vegan status of an item, get directions, etc.

Daytona Beach, South Daytona, Daytona Beach Shores

• Avatar Indian Cuisine - 318 South Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach. They offer a lot of vegetarian options.
• Avocado Kitchen - 110 South Beach St in Daytona Beach. The Avocado Kitchen has a large vegetarian menu. (see restaurant review). They have homemade vegan veggie burgers and a great selection of vegetarian food to choose from.
• Bombay Grille - 581 Beville Road in Daytona Beach. This is an Indian restaurant that offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan options.
• Chipotle - 2400 W. International Speedway Blvd. in Daytona Beach. They have good vegan burritos, burrito bowls, etc.
• Genovese's Italian Cafe - 116 Dunlawton Ave. Daytona Beach Shores and 183 E. Granada Ave. Ormond Beach. They offer several vegetarian dishes like pasta, pizza, and calzones. They also offer a variety of low-fat cheese-free pizzas. Their site also offers special coupons.
• Great Wraps - on International Speedway in Daytona Beach. They offer a falafel hummus wrap and grilled veggie wrap.
• Johnny Rockets - located the Ocean Walk Shoppes. Johnny Rockets has a good veggie vegan burger (Boca vegan patty) on the menu that was touted by PETA. Read a review here.
• Mediterranean Experience - 174 N. Beach St. This is a small restaurant that offers several vegetarian options, including falafel pita, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, etc.
• Moe's - several locations around the county. They are vegetarian friendly. The their white tortillas are vegan. The wheat ones have honey. They also offer tofu as a filling. Their pinto and black beans are vegan (we asked VRG to investigate to confirm this and they did, see info here).
• Nature's Table Cafe - inside the Volusia Mall on ISB. They have several vegetarian options.
• Pasha Middle East Foods - 919 W International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach. Great vegetarian options (falafel, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, etc.). Read review.
• Ruby Tuesday - 1808 International Speedway Blvd. and 2695 N. Atlantic Ave. They got rid of their veggie burger, but they still have a great salad bar and now offer a spaghetti squash main dish.
• Siam Spice - 101 Bay Street Daytona Beach. This Thai restaurant offers a variety of vegetarian dishes, including spring rolls, noodle dishes, rice dishes, and more. Just be sure to tell them you want the dish vegetarian, so they don't put fish sauce in it (as many dishes come with fish sauce as a base, if you don't tell them you want vegetarian, but they are happy to make it vegetarian). • SongKran - Located at 2309 South Ridgewood in Daytona Beach, this Thai restaurant does offer a vegetarian menu, and will prepare most of their dishes vegetarian or vegan if you ask for it.

DeLand

• DeLand Bakery & Natural Market - 933 N. Woodland Blvd. in DeLand. They have a natural foods market, as well as a cafe in the back of the store. The cafe has many vegetarian and vegan options (wraps, specials, soups, salads). Read a review here.
• Florida Hospital DeLand -701 W. Plymouth Ave. DeLand. Inside the hospital there is a cafe that is vegetarian friendly. Stop in for breakfast and you will find veggie sausage patties, hashbrowns, fruit, and more. You can even get a vegetarian breakfast sandwich.

New Smyrna Beach

• The Breakers - 518 Flagler Ave. New Smyrna Beach. They have a good vegan veggie burger and an amazing ocean front view!
• Heavenly Sandwiches & Smoothes - 115 Flagler Avenue New Smyrna Beach - they have a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan sandwiches. While they don't seem to have a Web site, you can click on their name and download the menu.

Ormond Beach

• Love Whole Foods - They have two locations - one at 275 Williamson Blvd. in Ormond Beach and one at1633 Taylor Rd. in Port Orange.. The natural foods store has a cafe inside and offers several vegetarian items. You can find the menu online here.
• Panera Bread - several locations. They offer sandwiches and soups and provide the ingredients on their site. Some of their signature salads (like the strawberry poppyseed) can be made vegetarian and/or vegan by saying no to the chicken/cheese. They have some vegan bagels (the everything, sweet onion and poppyseed, cranberry walnut). Their ingredients are all listed online.

Port Orange

• Fresh Healthy Cafe - located at the new Pavilion at Port Orange. This is a healthy, very vegetarian friendly restaurant. They offer three vegetarian wraps, including the Veggie Extreme, The Portobello and a Berry Burst Wrap. They also offer fresh fruit juices and smoothies. They also use all eco-friendly cups! Some Cafe Fresh locations are now serving gardein products (so any wrap, sandwich or panini can be vegetarian)! (see restaurant review)

• Fireside Pizza - located at the Pavilion at Port Orange offers vegan (daiya) cheese on their pizzas. Just ask for it when ordering your pizza. When you order their veggie pizza with the non-dairy cheese, minus parmesan, you will have a vegan pizza. They also have a great Italian salad, just ask for no salami, non-dairy cheese, and no parmesan.
• Red Robin - also in the Pavilion at Port Orange. They offer a Gardenburger veggie burger, as well as a vegan Boca burger (the bun is vegan as well). Their veggie burger can be used as a substitute in any of their meat dishes (burgers, wraps, salads, etc.)
• Smoothie King - 1808 W. ISB in Daytona Beach. They offer vegan smoothies, primal sticks, vegan cookies, and more!
• Asian Sauce Box - located in the Pavilion at Port Orange, this restaurant features Chinese, Japanese, and Thai food. They have some good vegetarian/vegan options. (read review)

Other Options

• Chef Keith's Cuisine - His personal chef business can make you vegan meals, cakes, etc. He can handle large orders (like for conferences and meetings), as well as for smaller parties and individual events.
• Sweet Marlay's Coffee - located at 214 S. Beach Street in Daytona Beach. They offer chocolate vegan cupcakes.
• Vanilla Bean Cupcake Bakery - Located in Port Orange. They offer vegan options by request.

Of course this is not an exhaustive list of every place that offers a vegetarian option on the menu. There are many chains that offer them if you are looking for locations just click on the links to view their menu and address information.

• Chipotle - they are good about divulging ingredients in dishes, offering burritos, tacos, etc.
• Tijuana Flats - accommodating for making food the way you want it
• Denny's - there are various locations around the county. They now offer a vegan veggie burger (just ask for the cheese to be left off the veggie burger). (see restaurant review)
• Olive Garden -  they do offer vegetarian options and will make fresh garlic bread sticks without butter upon request
• Great Wraps - located on International Speedway Blvd., they offer a hummus veggie wrap
• Denny's and Chili's - they both have several locations and offer a veggie burger
• Red Robin - they offer both a vegetarian and a vegan burger. Plus, you can get the vegan Boca burger substitute for any of their dishes (salads, wraps, burgers). There is one located in Port Orange.
• Subway - Some of the Subway locations offer a vegetarian patty. The Port Orange location (across from the Pavilion at Port Orange) offers the veggie patty, as well as a veggie sub.

Restaurants outside Volusia County:

• Ethos Vegan Kitchen - This restaurant is located in Winter Park (Orlando area). If you are in the area it is worth stopping by. The food is great! The entire menu is vegan. (see restaurant review)
• Dandelion Community Cafe - An organic tea house and cafe featuring vegan food. Located in Orlando.
• Loving Hut - is an international fast food chain that serves all vegan food. In Florida, they have a location in Orlando, Cape Coral, Naples and Tampa.
• Woodland's - This is an all Indian vegetarian restaurant. Within Florida you can find a location in Orlando and Lauder Hill.
• Don Pablo's - located in Sanford, but if you are headed that way they have portabella mushroom fajitas
• Evos - This is a healthier version fast food restaurant. They have locations in the Tampa Bay area. All vegan items are noted on their menu and they even offer vegan shakes! (see review)
• Manatee Cafe- Located in St. Augustine, this restaurant features a menu that is almost all vegetarian. They have a great manatee theme that makes it that much more interesting. (see restaurant review)
• Sublime Restaurant & Bar - located in Ft. Lauderdale, it is an all vegan upscale establishment.

• BeachHouse Beanery, located in Flagler, offers some vegetarian and vegan options.
